AIMA Portugal Launched Scheduling Visa Extensions to Speedup Immigration
AIMA Portugal is taking actions to speed up the immigration backlogs which is evident from opening of “schedule a Visa Extension” on its website. The website page requires mandatory submission of scanned copies of passport and visa. Depending on the Portugal visa type, immigrants can attach up to three supporting documents.
Who can Benefit from New Function of AIMA Website?
Immigrants with work, study, digital nomad or other Portugal D Type Visa can request for the renewal. This shows that immigration authorities are working to expedite the renewal of expired Portugal visa related documents. Mainly, people in Portugal on digital nomad visa for freelancers, D7 visa for people with passive income and D2 visa for entrepreneurs seeking investment opportunities.
AIMA to Expedite Portugal Visa Renewals
Government officials have directed AIMA’s mission structure, managing the regularizing pending processes, to dedicate itself to the Portugal visa extension services. The Minister of the Presidency, António Leitão Amaro has said that the aim of the new service is to regularize the expired immigration documents by October 15 2025.
As per Minister of the Presidency, over 370,000 immigrants will benefit from scheduling the online visa extension service. Immigration documents of these people have been verified by the administrative decisions, which extend the deadline, but majority of them faced issues with the authorities in other countries.
